Dispensational Understanding of the New Testament IV Jeff and Allen continue to discuss the book of Acts. In this program they address Jeff's claim that the events of Pentecost in Acts 2 are not, contrary to popular opinion, the birth date of the Church which is His body of Ephesians (1:22-23).

Dispensational Understanding of the New Testament III

Continued from part 2. In this program Allen and Jeff begin discussing what is taking place during the Acts Period. This is the period of time from the ascension of Christ to the end of the book of Acts. A correct understanding of the events recorded in the book of Acts is essential to our understanding the epistles (e.g. Corinthians, Thessalonians, Peter, etc.), written during this period of time. What are the apostles attempting to accomplish as they go first from Judea,  then Samaria, and finally the uttermost part of the earth? Understanding the answer to this question  will go a long way toward helping you to better understand the Bible.

Dispensational Understanding of the New Testament II Continued from part 1. In this program Allen and Jeff discuss the fact that, prior to the resurrection, Jesus' disciples knew nothing of the gospel by which we are saved today.  Rather, they preached the gospel or "good news" of the kingdom.

Dispensational Understanding of the New Testament I

The New Testament can best be understood by breaking it down into three distinct phases – the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) cover the offer of the Kingdom to Israel and their subsequent rejection. On the cross, Jesus asked the Father to forgive them. The Acts Period and the epistles written during that period cover God’s answer to that prayer. For nearly forty years, from about ~AD 30 until God gives up on them sometime around AD 64, God works primarily through the Apostle Paul to reach Israel. After giving up on Israel, God initiated a new program which, according to Eph 3:9, had been hidden“ from the beginning of the world.” This new program was a mystery hidden not in the pages of Bible but hidden in God Himself. He alone was aware of this program that we call the "Dispensation of The Mystery." During this dispensation, Israel’s program is in abeyance awaiting the return of Christ. Today, God is working in and through the Church which is His Body.

Basic Bible Study Principles Part II

During this program we finish up the Basic Bible Study Principles we started on the last program. Jeff discusses the danger of following after man's wisdom instead of that "which the Holy Ghost teacheth" (1Co 2:13). He addresses the principle of "proving the things that differ" (Phil. 1:9, YLT). He then explains an often misinterpreted verse -- 2 Timothy 2:15 where we are told to "rightly-divide the word of truth." Finally, he makes some practical application of these principles.

 Basic Bible Study Principles

We are finally back to recording the radio program. During this program, Pastor Jeff and Allen talk about a couple of basic Bible study principles. In Ephesians 4:1, the Apostle Paul said, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called..." If we are going to walk worthy of our calling we must be a devoted student of the Word of God.

The New Covenant in the Acts Period

There is considerable confusion about the New Covenant. Most Bible teachers contend that the Church is the recipient of the New Covenant. But a look at Jeremiah 33:31-34 reveals that the New Covenant is promised to the "house of Israel" and the "house of Judah."  Mush of the confusion regarding Israel's New Covenant comes from failing to understand what is going on during the Acts Period. In this program, Pastor-Teacher Jeff Brown explains what part the New Covenant plays in this important time in Biblical history.
